It is already the beginning of the Holiday season! Time is flying by! We are a little behind because of the fact I was gone so much last week...I had sick kids :( We have had quite a few sick in our class and I believe H1N1 is making its way around our school. Remember to keep the kiddos home if they are showing signs of illness/flu: fever, headache, nausea, etc. Make sure to keep them home long enough to recover as well--the flu takes a toll on the body and they need plenty of rest.
I have posted pictures from Grandparent's Day and our Halloween celebration! Thank you to everyone that helped out. We had an amazing turn out for Grandparent/Special Guest day!!
Have a wonderful week!

Mid October

Our Spider Bulletin Board...spoooooooky! :)

Kindergarten Monsters:BEWARE ...they are cute monsters though!
October is flying by and we are very excited for Halloween. I will be sending home details about our Halloween party and I will have a sign-up sheet outside the door for items we will need. (You can call me and I can sign you up if you can't make it in)
Important Reminders:
-October 21st is Grandparent/Special Guest Day
-Stuff-the-Truck...send in items for the local food shelf!
-It is getting chilly...kids need proper jackets, hat & gloves. We are right by the lake so it is even colder!
Have a wonderful week!

Beginning of October
FALL is here and it is my favorite time of year in the classroom. We have many activities planned--we will try to be outside as much as we can before we are locked inside all winter! Our themes for the month are Apples, Pumpkins, Fire Safety, and Harvest. We just returned from our first field trip to the Apple Bayfield Company. We had a blast and everyone was VERY well behaved.
Have a wonderful weekend...hope to see some of you in Bayfield!!

**We could use baby wipes in our classroom--the kids use them to wash their spots after snack, milk break, etc.

Spring Time is Already Here!
March has come and gone--We love spring, even though there is a snow storm in the forecast for the next few days. Today we counted 49 1/2 days left of school this year...the time has flown by! We have had so much fun this month learning about St. Patrick, the Holy Trinity, and are now preparing for the Easter season.
Remember...Kindergarten Screening is on April 22nd! If you know of anyone that will be starting Kindergarten next year, tell them to sign up with Miss Sara in the office!

Spring is Around the Corner!
February is coming to an end quickly and we have had a lot of fun! (As you can see from our slide show :)) We are planning some future field trips too. As a class we have set some goals for ourselves for the next few months. We want to be very ready for first grade!
Our goals for March, April and May:
1. We will work on being INDEPENDENT. We will try to do things all by ourselves first before we ask for help.
2. We will read with mom or dad everynight. (more details to come)
3. We will always do our best.
We have had very wonderful reflections and conversations about Lent. Remember to talk with your children about how your family celebrates and recognizes Lent...it is a special time of change and reconciliation.

Winter 2009...Happy New Year
The Kindergarten Blog is back after technical difficulties...password problems :)
It is already the end of the 2nd Quarter--I can't believe it. We have made it half way through the alphabet on our letter-of-the week, we are reading and writing alot, and we've even started having homework over the weekends! (in small doses) First grade is right around the corner!
Next week we are going to the Cathedral in Superior to celebrate Mass with Bishop Christensen--don't forget to return your permission slips. I will be out that day, but the kids will get to have Mrs. Doman back for a visit! It will be a fun day.
I have great new pictures to post in a new slide show soon! If you haven't seen them yet, come check out the LIFE SIZE Kindergarteners in our hallway.
