Kindergarten Fun

I had a really fun visit with the class last friday. They were very busy at work and play! We had popsicles and they showed me all of the fun things they like about school and the classroom.
2 reminders...**Wednesday is Native American Day--join us for Mass at 9:00.
**Wednesday evening (5:30 pm) is the Kindergarten Open House.

Welcome to Kindergarten...2008-2009 School Year

It is that time of year again and we are off to a great start! We have a wonderful group of kids, a fun classroom, and a great substitute! I have heard wonderful things from Mrs. Doman about the kids!
I will update the blog weekly and I love doing slide shows so you can see all of the fun going on at school!

Join us on Wednesday, September 24th at 5:30 for a Kindergarten Open House. We will outline the procedures, get to know each other, and have some delicious appetizers!

April 2008

These are pictures from when we walked to the Brick to deliver our Food Shelf donations. We got a tour and description of the ways the Brick helps our community.

It is April now and we have one quarter left...I have a feeling that the rest of the school year will fly right by. When I see how much we have changed and grown throughout the year, I remember why I teach Kindergarten. It is amazing!

**We have done a lot of independent writing (don't be afraid of "inventive spelling"--it is very developmentally appropriate for us) and creative writing.
**We are learning how to tell time on a digital and analog clock...it is good to practice around the house too!
**We are preparing to turn our classroom into a nursery and pull out our green thumbs!
**We have started practicing for our Spring Program, which is scheduled for May 8th at 6:30 p.m.

Spring 2008

It is staring to feel like Spring and we are watching the snow slowly melt. We are ready! This week we finished the letter Yy--we had a 'YOU ARE SPECIAL' day and invited our Dads, Uncles, or Grandpas to join us for church and/or morning snack! It was so fun having them here!
Don't forget that we have the Children's Carnival this Sunday, March 30th. It is also the Preschool and Kindergarten Open House. If you are or know anyone that is interested in joining our school community, this is a good time to come check out the classrooms and teachers! This Sunday, 10:30-1:00!!

Spring is almost here!

We are preapring to head home for Easter Vacation...we made cards, wrote stories, dyed eggs, had treats, and are now ready for a vacation! Remember we have the 20th-24th off and return on Tuesday, March 25th.
Finally my laptop (which contains all of our classroom photos) is up and running. I will put a new slide show up over the break.
We have come so far this year...we know the alphabet, sight words, numbers up to 30, how to recognize money, how to count to 100, all about animals, how to be a good friend and student, how God and Jesus can guide our lives...we are almost ready for FIRST GRADE!!!
